About
the InterNetwork for Youth
Why GREEN & GOLD ?
Green & Gold, the official colors of the InterNetwork for Youth, were picked as a representation of youth/adult partnership.
in4y.com is a service of JTFest Consulting copyright 2007
to promote positive perspectives of young people
to provide youth workers with skills and resources
to advocate for youth rights, youth/adult partnerships,
and the Youth Development approach
Green & Gold are considered an analogous color scheme, meaning that they are adjacent to each other on the color wheel, and are therefore alike in such a way as to permit the drawing of an analogy. Young people and adults could be considered adjacent to each other on the 'wheel' of human development; at different stages of life, but otherwise similar in many ways.
Green represents the 'youth' side of the partnership, a color associated with growth, human will in operation, persistence, and determination. Gold represents the 'adult' side of the partnership, a color associated with foundation, responsibility, fulfilling duties and obligations, and organization and structure. Together they represent a partnership that is both determined and full of potential, yet well grounded and organized..
The official blog of the InterNetwork for Youth, this is our most frequently updated feature. Offering site news and issues commentary, blog entries are daily when possible, but at least several new entries are made every week.
This is essentially a 'mini-training' offering an introduction to the Youth Development approach, including free handouts! While Youth Development is still an evolving field, this area provides the InterNetwork for Youth's perspective on the topic.
Described as a 'living work in progress', this directory attempts to provide a listing of programs promoting Youth Development, youth/adult partnership, youth advocacy, and/or programs for or available to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth. Only programs with a web presense are listed, and each listing is a link to that program's site.
